As many of you know me and my family will be embarking on a new phase in our lives. This will be working on a new ministry in the Southside of Chattanooga, Tennessee called Mercy Junction. I will be setting up my office at Northminster Presbyterian Church on May 14th and will begin work on that date. My farewell Sunday at The Palisades Community Church in Washington, D.C. will be May 20th. My installation service in Chattanooga will officially be on July 22. I will be discontinuing my writing on my old blog (Shekinah Glory). Indefinite Definiteness will be my new ministry blog.
So what is Mercy Junction? We are hoping that it will be an alternative worshiping community that values the food to table movement and is interested in a different type of diversity. We will be guided by the Presbyterian ideas of “The Great Ends of the Church” while working toward a discipleship in Jesus Christ that fits the Southside’s growing context. I want to thank the Presbytery of East Tennessee who has called me to be their Evangelist and the New Church Development committee of the Presbytery for its vision. I would also like to express my gratitude toward Rev. Laura Becker and Northminster Presbyterian Church for having the flexibility to imagine something different in the Church’s trajectory. I am extremely excited and can’t wait to begin.
